It was an odyssey painting these cactus fruits (prickly pears or "tunas," in Spanish)! I scavenged these from a huge cactus on a local hike, which required wearing gloves, transporting them separately in a bag and then into a backpack and getting them to my studio. Despite my best efforts, I still got hundreds of little prickly needles everywhere (in my pockets, my bag, my jacket and in my hands--ouch!). Lucky for you, the painting comes without the pain.
